The “flora” group contains organic blocks which grow on Dirt with Grass (and other blocks on which saplings would grow, except desert sand) and spread very slowly over time.

Flora nodes which have enough light (the minimum is a light level of 13) and are not in an overcrowded area will occasionally spread to other nodes in a 9*9 area. A flora node is said to be in an “overcrowded” area if 3 or more flora nodes (including itself) are in the same volume. For, if there is, say, a tulip on Dirt with Grass in sunlight, after an extended period of time, another tulip may appear near to it.

A flora node which is on Desert Sand or Silver Sand won’t spawn anything, instead it will become a Dry Shrub eventually.
