Mobs

Mobs – short for mobiles – consist in peaceful or hostile creatures, generally spawned randomly in the game world depending on lighting, height and spawning block conditions. Some of them may drop more or less precious items.

They are not part of the vanilla Minetest game and are currently only available through Mods.

Mods that add mobs

• Simple Mobs [mobs] includes dirt monsters, stone monsters, sand monsters, oerkkis, dungeon masters, sheep and rats.
  • Mob Spawn Eggs [spawneggs] Adds spawn eggs for simple_mobs.
  • KPGMobs (was new mobs) [kpgmobs] Uses sheep and rats from mobs and adds deer, ridable horses, wolfs, giraffes, boars, bears, cows and bees.
  • Mobsplus and Edited Areas (modpack) [mobsplusareas-mp] Combines elements of Simple Mobs, KPGMobs and Zeg's Mobs. Includes Dirt Monster, Tree Monster, Sand Monster, Stone Monster, Oerkki, Dungeon Master, and Wolf as well as Boar, Sheep, Chicken, Cow, Horses (all original varieties), and Rat and also Mese Monster and Lava Flan.
  • Mobs Redo [0.3] [mobs] giant spiders, bees,chicken, cows, sheep, warthog, rats, sand-, dirt-, stone-, tree-monsters, oerkki, dungeon masters, lava flan and mese monsters.
    • SimpleMobs++ [mobs] giant spiders, bees,chicken, cows, sheep, warthog, rats, sand-, dirt-, stone-, tree-monsters, oerkki, dungeon masters, lava flan, mese monsters and as additions yeti, wolves, dogs and wardogs.
  • Carbone Mobs] [mobs] Another mobs mod based on PilzAdam's mobs mod. Includes dirt monsters, stone monsters, sand monsters, tree monsters, oerkkis, dungeon masters, rhino, troopers, sheep and rats.
  • Senderman [senderman] meet Senderman. Includes the senderegg.
  • Soldiermob [soldiermob] This mob adds VERY aggressive soldiers that will shoot at you. Good luck!
  • Spidermob (lottmobs extracted) [spidermob] Spider extracted from lottmobs [1.0]
  • Creatures (mob framework) [minetest_mods_creatures] adds the ability to play a mob.
  • CUTE CUBIC MOBS [ccmobs] adds, well. cubic mobs of the type chicken, cow, nyan cat, pig, rabbit and sheep. Beware, very cubic.
• Mob framework [mobf] includes sheep, cows, ostriches, vombies, slimes, blue/white fish, clownfish, wolves, boombombs, traders, gulls, chickens, rats, deer, big reds, oerkkis, archers and guards.
  • Vombie Spawner! [Animalsmod] adds a spawner for use in arenas and whatnot.
  • EnderFreaks [enderfreaks] adds dark and slender freaks that phase shift in the sun. (based on Vombie code)
• Peaceful NPC [peaceful_npc] includes random non-player characters that follow you
• NPC Framework (modpack) [minetest-npcf] adds non-player characters of the type Info, Deco, Guard, Trader and Builder.
  • Npcs for the NPC Framework Mod! [Npcpack01] Add-on for the NPC Framework, adds non-player characters of the type Goku and Vegeta from Dragon Ball Z.
• herobrine mod [herobrine mod] adds a herobrine
• Zombie Waves [zombie_waves] includes zombies.
• Creatures [creatures] includes zombies, ghosts and Sheep
• Slimes [slimes] adds some slimes of various sizes
• Workers [workers] adds worker cubes. May be a bit outdated. Beware, very cubic.
• Weeping Angel [weeping] adds a ... - oh well - just don't look away.
• They're everywhere!(bugslive) [bugslive] adds some creeping critters.

Other mods (containing mobs)

• random buildings includes lumberjacks and traders.
• Zeg's Mobs and Lava Temple [zmobs] Depends on Simple Mobs (mobs). Adds mese monsters and lava flans.
• Pyramids [pyramids] includes mummies.
• Bees and beekeeper [bees] Not really mobs, but very close.
• Glowing Biomes [GlowTest] includes spiders and ents extracted from Lord of the Test.
• QuestTest [QuestTest] (Modpack, WiP) includes Zombies, Armored Zombie, Elite Zombie, Skeleton, Advanced skeleton, Carbonized Skeleton, Criminal, Villager, Traders, Sheep, Magic Sheep, BOSS Living Sand, BOSS Avenging Ent, MiniBoss Pumpkin-Headed Zombie and Boss Grim Reaper.

Other mods (without mobs)

• Mob API [mobapi] provides the basic API of Simple Mobs without the mobs.
• Mob Catching Ball [mccarball] A spherical device that, when placed next to a mob, captures and contains said mob. The player can then store it in their inventory. By placing the device somewhere the mob can be releaseed again.
• Nether [nether] The forum page includes a link to a lawyer mob that runs if the simple mobs mod by PilzAdam is run.
• Mob Spawner [mobspawn] Adds spawners for several mob mods such as mobs, carbone_mobs, mobf, creatures, zmobs and more to come.
