Papyrus (sometimes incorrectly called “Sugar Cane”, “Reeds” or “Bamboo”) is found near water on grass blocks or dirt. It is relatively hard to find and can be crafted into paper. When a papyrus block is mined, all connected papyrus blocks directly above it are automatically mined as well.
Papyrus can be placed anywhere but will not grow everywhere.
A papyrus on dirt or a grass block which is not further away from water than three node lengths slowly grows three additional papyri (blocks) above it.
