A Brown Mushroom is an edible fungi found in forests.
In most map generators it can be found in decidous forests and coniferous forests (→Biomes) on dirt with grass blocks . They may also rarely appear on fallen Tree, Aspen Tree and Jungle Tree logs. In the v6 mapgen, brown mushrooms only grow next to a Tree on dirt with grass.
Brown mushrooms will spread slowly over time on Dirt, Dirt with Grass, etc. and on “trunk” blocks (Tree, Jungle Tree, etc.) in darkness but they will eventually die off in direct sunlight.
