A coral skeleton is a full-sized block which once was a living colorful coral but now has died. They can be used as decoration or to build houses. Coral skeletons can be found naturally in shallow water of warm climates. You can also obtain coral skeletons by mining a coral (Orange Coral or Brown Coral). They can be dug by a pickaxe.
