Papyrus (sometimes incorrectly called “Sugar Cane”, “Reeds” or “Bamboo”) is a plant found near water on dirt with grass or dirt. It is relatively hard to find and can be crafted into paper. When a papyrus block is mined, all connected papyrus blocks directly above it are automatically mined as well. Papyrus can be placed anywhere.

A papyrus on dirt or dirt with grass slowly grows three additional papyri (blocks) above it when it is not further away from water than three node lengths and it is exposed to a light level of 13 or higher.
